In the 66th All India Police Athletics Championship, which was hosted Uttarakhand at Maharana Pratap Sports College in Dehradun on Saturday, Punjab police lead the medal tally with 27 medal, incorporating 10 gold. Host Uttarakhand police additionally showed a decent show and packed away fourth position in the general award count. Uttarakhand police won five gold with two being won on the last day itself, two silvers and a bronze medal.
In the championship, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) took the second spot with seven golds, 11 silvers and five bronze, while Border Security Force (BSF) packed away the third spot with the total of 20 medals.
Lal Singh from Uttarakhand secured gold decoration in marathon by timing the planning of 2:22:25 and Shiv Kumar sacked the gold award in pound toss with a separation of 61.50meters. Quite, Manish Rawat won the first gold medal for Uttarakhand in the race walk occasion.
“Sportspersons of Uttarakhand police showed splendid execution in Olympic style sports occasions and made the entire state glad.
